Cleomise Anita Joseph, affectionately known as "ManTa" to her friends and "Manman" (pronounced as Mama) to her grandchildren, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and cherished memories.
Born on July 27, 1920, in Port de Paix, Haiti, ManTa was the beloved daughter of Mariana Guillaume and Clerfe Joseph. She was a devoted sister to Loriston, Orpheus, Albert, Alfred, and Ophelia.
ManTa was known for her vibrant spirit and her love for games, especially Dominoes and Bezique, which she enjoyed playing with friends in New York and Florida. Her culinary skills were legendary, and she delighted many with her delicious Haitian dishes, including legume, griot, Haitian patties, and sweet treats like Duce lette and Kremas.
Her family was her pride and joy, and she leaves behind a loving legacy through her children, Max, Mirtha, Frantz and Danie and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Collette, Daphney, Jennifer, Alex, Maureen, Gael, Myrtho, Emmanuel, Nadia, Monique, Kelsey Alexya, Johanna, Jelena, Ethan, Crystal, Micheal, and Zariya.
Cleomise’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, sacrifice, and joy. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
A funeral service for Cleomise will be held Sunday, October 27, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 2401 SW 64th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317.
