Anthony Rivera

Our son, baby brother, uncle, nephew and friend, Anthony Rivera, age 53 passed away on Friday, February 25 in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

Please join the family in a celebration of life memorial service that will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 5 at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale’s South Chapel, 2101 W. Cypress Creek Road Fort Lauderdale FL 33309.

Anthony was born in New York, NY to Zeleida and Hector Rivera Sr. on Feb 22, 1969. Anthony was a savvy entrepreneur throughout his life, most recently owning a camera and security alarm business. Anthony was an outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing and anything having to do with water. He was a consummate chef and loved to cook for others. His gregarious personality was bigger than life and he will be lovingly missed by his family and friends.

Anthony is survived by his mother, Zeleida Rivera, sister, Rosemary Rivera, brothers, Michael (Myrna) Rivera and Hector Rivera, aunt, Mercedes Byers, nephew, Cristian Rivera and nieces, Sophia and Alexa Rivera.

To know Anthony was to love him. His heart was his strength, and the legacy he has left for his beloved family and friends. Compassionate, kind and generous are a few words that people use to describe his big personality and loving life he lived.

Anthony was a faithful man that walked in the light of Jesus Christ. Please pass on his generosity by taking a moment to share kindness with others. Smile at a passerby, cook for friends or help someone in need. Pay forward acts of kindness in Anthony Rivera’s name, as he lived his life giving so generously to all those who surrounded him.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at North Broward Hospital who fought valiantly to save his life.
