It is with deep sadness, the family announces the passing of Robert Edgar Thomas Bliss, age 96 formerly of Mine Centre, Ontario at Rainycrest Long term Care in Fort Frances, Ontario on Sunday, 17 October 2021.
Robert was born 02 July 1925 in Fort Frances, Ontario, Son of the late Edgar (Ed) and Marcela (Kushierz) Bliss of Mine Centre.
Robert was a World War II Veteran having served overseas with the Royal Canadian Army Algonquin Regiment and he was wounded in the Battle of Hochwald Forest.
A quiet hardworking man He loved the land, hunting and fishing and taking photos
He was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph Addington (Constance), David (Katie), George Louis (Ruth), Daniel(Merle), sister Norma (Kenneth) Ryan, his first wife Juanita (Costello) and daughters Roberta (Bobbie) Sparkle (Robert d.) Abelman and Rita Frances (Sylvain) Allaire.
He is survived by his sister Frances (Frank) McKiel . His Common law wife Emma Boshkaykin, Thunderbay, Ontario. His granddaughters Deborah Lee (Markus) Vadder, Chilliwack, BC, Liza Dawn Abelman, Garabaldi Highlands, BC, grandson Darren Paul (Natasha) Abelman, Chilliwack, BC, son Brian Arthur (Lenore d.) Bliss, and granddaughter Nancy-Ann (Jeremy) Bliss, Edmonton, Alberta, daughter Karen Marcella Marie (David dv.) Snider, Freeport, Nova Scotia, and grandsons Jean-Paul Marc (Victoria) Allaire and Christian Cole Alexandre (Grant) Allaire of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Sons Roland Boshkaykin, Mine Centre, Ontario, and Gene (Leanne) Boshkaykin, Grandson Randall, Granddaughters Jacey and Juliette, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Daughter Gloria (Marty) Boshkaykin and grandsons Cameron, Jaron and granddaughter Alexis, Thunder Bay, Ontario, as well as great grandsons, great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation of Roberts life was held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. He will be cremated and laid to rest in Riverview Cemetery.
