Mary Elizabeth Zdilla

Mary Elizabeth Zdilla, 84, passed away on January 15th, 2024. She was born in Dubuque, Iowa on April 28, 1939/ She was a loving wife for 62 years to Raymond Charles Zdilla; beloved mother of Mark, Eric, and Barton; cherished sister of Kathleen (William) Rettenmeier of Dubuque, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents Guy and Anna (Noesen) Metcalf, brothers David, Calvin and Francis Metcalf and four sisters Geraldine Whalen, Margaret Kass, Sylvia, Steffen and one in infancy.

Mary graduated from St. Joseph Academy Dubuque in 1958. She went on to work for Northwest and Pan American Airlines in New York.

She enjoyed gardening and raising plants and orchids. She volunteered at the Oak Park Conservatory growing and working with orchids. She enjoyed traveling.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation for Mary that is being held from 4pm to 8pm on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 West Cermak Road, Forest Park, Illinois 60130. A mass is being held on Wednesday, January 24th, 2024 at 12pm at St. Luke Catholic Church, 7600 Lake Street, River Forest, Illinois. Services conclude at church. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to Caledonia Senior Living, North Riverside, Illinois.
