Marilyn Goodman

Marilyn was born to Herman and Claire Cohen in New York City in 1933. She was a graduate of the Class of 1951 at Seward Park High School (NY) and earned a degree from Morris County Community College (NJ) in 1978.

She married Donald Goodman (d. 1970) in Ridgefield, NJ in 1957 and raised four children, Alan, Robert, Martin, and Shari. She retired from a successful career as an administrative assistant at AT&T Long Lines, Bedminster, NJ, in 1988.

An avid reader and animal lover, Marilyn was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She loved dances and parties, and gathering with her family for birthdays and holidays. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and zest for life.

Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Herman and Claire Cohen and her son Martin and survived by her children and their spouses, Alan (Annemarie) Goodman, Robert (Rochelle) Goodman, and Shari (Bruce) Pople, and grandchildren, Rachel Walsh, Daniel Goodman, Joshua Goodman, Justin Goodman, Jerold Goodman, David Pople, and Alexander Pople, great-grandchildren, Edward Walsh V and Ethan Walsh, and many cousins, nieces, nephews. May her memory be a blessing.

Services will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Maspeth, NY, on December 11, 2022 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Daughters of Israel, an organization that showed much compassion and care for her.
