She was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1947 to Eva and Herman Goldstein.
Karen met her late husband Andre Ferenzo at a disco and it was love at first sight. They married a short time after on April 7, 1968 and eventually settled down in the place they called home in Roslyn, NY.
Karen and Andre had a son Hal Justin and daughter Farrah Sloane. Both children were their whole world. Hal and Farrah always talk about Karen being the best mother who provided them with a beautiful life.
Karen started Top Of The Party, an event planning company 36 years ago. She had the drive, passion and creativity. Her daughter, Farrah has taken over the business.
Karen’s activities included shopping and more shopping, playing mohjong and canasta, traveling, knitting, being a proud member of Hadassah, and fundraising for Temple Sinai, but her favorite role was being a grandparent. She treasured her time with her grandkids and spoiling them any chance she got.
Karen will forever be remembered for her strength, kindness to everyone, her warmth and the way she lit up a room. We are thankful for the years and proud to call her mom. She will be missed every day. Her legacy will live on in the memories and stories we continue to share about her and she will forever be in our hearts.
Karen was preceded in death by husband Andre Ferenzo, and is survived by Farrah and husband Jeff Edelstein, Hal and his wife Andria Ferenzo, and three beautiful grandchildren Andi Evyn, Gavin and Evelyn.
A funeral service will be held from 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM at Temple Sinai of Roslyn, 425 Roslyn Rd, Roslyn Heights, NY 11577. Following will be A committal service for Karen, Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 83-45 Cypress Hills Street, Glendale, NY 11385.
