A New Yorker through and through, Adele was a dynamo on every level, both professionally and personally. Her career began as an occupational therapist, after which she earned her Master's Degree in Special Ed and School Administration from Hunter College.
As accomplished as she was professionally, she dedicated the same zeal and passion to her many interests including travel, cooking, restaurants, theater and museum openings, and anything family related.
She is survived by daughter Robin Mathes of Los Angeles, son Kenneth (Rhett) of Boston, and grandchildren Andrew Mathes (Charlotte), Jake Mathes, Julia Zuckerman, and Peter Zuckerman. And grand-niece Melanie Weniger (Hart). She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soulmate Melvin, who passed in 2009, and son Eric in 2013.
Donations in her honor can be made to the Aurelia Foundation (www.creative steps.org)
A graveside ceremony will be held at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Queens on February 21st at 11am.
