Rosamaria Pagano

She was the beloved wife of the late Nicola Pagano and the loving mother of Alex Pagano (the late Karen), Carmine (Josephine) Pagano, Maria Pagano (John), Connie Pagano, and Carmelina Pagano (Martin). Rosamaria was a cherished grandmother to Maddalena (Alex), Niccolo Pagano, Rosemarie Pagano (Saud), Allegra Pagano, John Lo Bello, Nicolas Lo Bello, Matteo Jajan, and Luca Jajan, and the adored great-grandmother of Sofia Leder.

She was the dear sister of Biagio Alessandro, Filomena Salamone, Rosina Corso, and the late Nicola Alessandro and Antonietta Arcella.

Rosamaria was the matriarch of her family, deeply committed to being present at every milestone and occasion. She dedicated her life to her family, providing love, strong guidance, and support. As the oldest of 6 siblings, she loved spending time with them and was always joyful in celebrating their families' special moments with them. Rosamaria immigrated with her family from her native Italy well into her adulthood, and worked hard to adapt and learn the American language and customs. She was a skilled seamstress who worked by hand on intricate special occasion and bridal dresses, helping realize many brides' dreams of wearing a beautifully fitting dress on their special day.

Rosamaria had a deep love of gardening and growing things, from flowers, assorted vegetables, herbs and fruits, with special pride for her fig and peach trees.

In the earliest of morning hours, she would be found in her garden, or her paradise, as she affectionately called it, tending to and foraging her assorted bounty which she insisted on sharing with her lucky loved ones.

The family will be receiving visitors on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 9:45 AM at Holy Trinity RC Church, 14-51 143rd St, Whitestone, NY 11357. Entombment will follow at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, 172-00 Booth Memorial Ave, Flushing, NY 11365.
