Rachel Merlini

Rachel was the beloved wife of the late Alessandro, with whom she shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. She was a loving mother to David (Catherine) Merlini and Dana LaSpisa, and a cherished grandmother to Sebastien Merlini, Anthony Merlini, Justine Merlini, and Thomas LaSpisa. Rachel was also an adored great-grandmother to Gabriel, Alexander, and Simon, who brought joy to her later years.

Rachel was the dear sister of Helen Babille. Her family was her pride and joy, and she brought warmth, love, and laughter to every occasion.

A woman of many talents, Rachel loved to travel, knit, sew, and craft. She was always the life of the party, alongside her husband Alessandro, and the couple was known for being the last to leave any gathering they attended. Her kindness and creativity left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

The family of Rachel Merlini will be receiving visitors on Monday, March 31, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 9:45 AM at St. Kevin's RC Church, 45-21 194th Street, Flushing, NY 11358. Following the Mass, prayers will be said at All Souls Crematory at 11:15 AM, 72-02 Astoria Boulevard, East Elmhurst, NY 11370. Cremation Private.

Rachel will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit, love, and laughter will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
