He was the husband of Carmen Raquel Cartier whom he married on June 25, 1961

Patrick was a man of great faith and had a deep devotion to Our Lady of Fatima. He was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady Fatima Church in East Elmhurst, NY for many years.
A devout Catholic, he took to writing with passion to inspire the Christian faith on a global scale including poetry, short stories and works of art. Patrick was a published author of six religious and spiritual books centering on the tenets of sacred theology.
Patrick served in the Indian Head Division in the United States Army during the Korean War. He obtained the rank of Sargent and was awarded several awards including the coveted Combat Infantryman's Badge.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carmen Raquel Cartier six children Jennie S. Farrell, Patrick L. Cartier,Jr., Marie T. Granieri, John C. Cartier, Anne Michele Cartier and Michael J. Cartier, his sons-in-law, Daniel E. Farrell and Michael J. Granieri, and daughters-in-law Hiroe Cartier and Michelle Cartier, 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild and is survived by his brother Wilfred J. Cartier, Jr.
Patrick was preceded in death by his son James Marcel Cartier, who passed on September 11, 2001
A visitation for Patrick will be held Friday, July 19, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358. Funeral mass Saturday, July 20, 2024, 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, 25-02 80th St, New York, NY 11370. A graveside service will follow at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, 172-00 Booth Memorial Ave, New York, NY 11365.
