George Markadakis

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Markadakis, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who left this world on Thursday, October 30, 2024. George was a man of great passion and zest for life, devoted to his family and cherished by all who knew him.

Born in Jamaica, Queens on January 24, 1968, George grew up with a love for adventure, competition, and camaraderie. His passions led him to a lifelong love for golf, a game he cherished, and to the world of car racing, where he found exhilaration and joy. Throughout his life, he brought warmth and energy to everyone around him, whether on the greens, at the racetrack, or at home with his family.

George was the beloved husband to Luisa, the love of his life and best friend; loving father to Christina (Louis) and Nicholas (Heather), who carry forward his spirit, wisdom, and laughter; and beloved 'G-Pop' to His 3 beautiful grandchildren, Liam, Olivia, and Toula. They were the lights of his life and greatest pride & joy. He truly loved them more than anything.

George’s love, kindness, and infectious enthusiasm will be deeply missed, leaving a profound void in the hearts of his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and passion that will endure in the memories of all who had the honor of knowing him.

A visitation for George will be held Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358. A funeral liturgy will occur Monday, November 4, 2024, 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Shrine Church, 196-10 Northern Blvd, New York, NY 11358. A committal service will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery - Mausoleums 72-02 Astoria Blvd S, New York, NY 11370.
