Dolores Ann Rice

RICE, Dolores A. – age 78, of Flushing, MI passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at her residence, surrounded by her family. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2015 at King of Glory Lutheran Church 6012 E. River Rd., Flushing, MI with visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Dolores was born on February 24, 1937 in Battle Creek, MI to the late Russel and Marguerite (Graves) Conant. She attended Athens High School and Western Michigan University. Dolores was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for several years. She married Jimmie C. Rice on August 15, 1959. Dolores taught for several years in New Jersey and the Battle Creek area. She was also a charter member of King of Glory Lutheran Church. Dolores enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She made ceramics and was a piano player for the church and for her own enjoyment. Surviving are her husband, Jimmie Rice; daughters, Julia (Scott) Hoornstra of Grand Ledge, MI and Sara (Christian) Quinn of Carlsbad, CA; grandchildren, Dylan and Kyra Quinn; brothers, Norman (Bonnie) Conant and Louis (Tracie) Conant of Athens, MI; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Kevin Rice.
