I'm so sorry to hear this about Derrick. I remember when they moved in next door to us. He and Ericka were little--between 3 and 7, I'm not sure of their ages but they were small. They were so quiet I forgot there were little kids living there! I would have loved to babysit them but never got that chance as time passed and life happened. My sincere condolences to the family during this time. May the memories of him be treasures in your heart.❤️ RIP always Derrick and thank you for watching out for mama in her later years.❤️

My condolences to Erica and the Martin family. The Martin's were more like family to me. I used to babysit Erica and Derrick when they were children. They were good and respectful children. I will miss you Derrick. Your Barbara Drive neighbor/friend/family. Laurie Ann Brown. ❤️

My routine has been to ride down Lillian then visit while in town. I am glad that we took this picture and some other goofy pictures.  This visit will be different. I will be seeing you this weekend, but you will not be able to respond.  Thanks for being not just a friend, but a brother.

My darling brother. There's a million moments, memories and meanings that you gave to the time we shared. You were a safe place, one of my few true friends who brought a sense of complete ease, comfort and safety. I love you Derrick and will miss you till we laugh and cry togethet, again. Thank you for your friendship, your brotherly love and for the confidence to create magical music with me. My biggest fan. I am blessed to have had such a true musical genius believe in me and my potential. This picture is of a moment years ago. Derrick asked me to shave his head before we went to run & shoot in Atlanta. It was inconceivable that he would not realise I was shaving a question mark in the back of his head!? With the dot...inconceivable...surely?! Thats how much trust he had in me... for the next 4 hrs, he got strange looks and I tried to keep the secret until we got back to Skrapp's place. He never did get any kind of revenge...he was too kind, too soft, the best big brother I could ever wish for. 

I miss you darling brother and I will wade through this heartache until I find the meaning in this bitter and untimely paasing. I love you a thousand times big brother. You have left behind so many broken hearts Bxx

Our friendship began in the third grade and continued through adulthood. You were always the sweetest person with the warmest heart.

My deepest sympathies to Erica, Summer, Vera Kate and Riclor the entire Humphrey and Martin family… all that loved Derrick. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. I hope you take comfort in knowing he is reunited with his parents and brother. I have so many memories, but I want to share this…. A hummingbird was outside my window as I was in a daze looking out, thinking about him. I said to myself what does that mean. I went to google and it said some believe that it’s a message from a loved one letting you know that they are ok. I  accepted that message . Derrick told me to pay attention to signs and symbols. So I pray that the family and friends find comfort in this time of sorrow 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Derrick will truly be missed🕊️ but his works and legacy will live forever.

I'm at a loss for words but everybody that knew you knew you was a good dude.. I first met you at Fisher Hall poker room and carried on all the way through to all the other poker rooms that we worked for the organization, and you know you was a solid dude when you had a crew like Nick Clark,KG,Matt Ploofand Babs... There where other awesome dealers out there but those are the ones that I did get to talk with while working the poker rooms and I met so many awesome people also.. it's sad to see you taken at such a young age.. it was a blessing to know you the short time that I did and I hope your family can heal from this loss.. May you Rest in Heaven bro...

I’ve had to sit with this a few days to even begin to process that you are no longer on this earthly realm and it has me off center, it has us all off center. Derrick Martin @mr.drick225 truly Flintstones Finest how can you not be here? I just heard your voice when you called Sunday and we made plans to talk this week, after I recovered from Mama’s bday party. I did not know that was the last time I’d hear your voice this side of heaven. I’ve literally known you my whole Flint life (since age 2.) There’s no way I can express what you mean to me in these limited characters called the alphabet but I’ll try. You are my Lillian/Barbara Drive family. We’ve seen each other grow all the way up. You are my film partner who helped me with all my Flint capers and I, you. This photo is one of those moments when we set out to make a video and take pics of the beauty we would find in our city. You LOVE FLINT and we wanted to tell all the good stories about our city. You worked so hard on your “Ready for the World” @readyfortheworldofficial @iammelvinriley Mocumentary. You worked hard on “Decades of Greatness” and got to screen it and receive all the love you deserved. And your next big one w/TDF @thedaytonfamily You put your heart into your music and shared so many stories with me of the Green Eyed Bandits @dwightskrappreynolds and the adventures y’all had. You loved your sister Erricka so much, your daughter and grand, and all of us - your neighborhood family.

I will miss that “UmmHmmm” you said almost every time we spoke. I am most comforted that you are reunited with your Mama whom you missed so dearly.  We love you forever and I promise to honor you in all my work. Thank you D for being you and flashing that handsome face and beautiful smile and kind heart everywhere you went. Love and miss you and can’t believe I’m typing this online instead of saying it to you one more time.

I'm a miss that guy always showed me love, we use to party & everywhere went to cuz knew almost everybody. Great musician & a great guy..😇

To the Martin Family- I met Derrick as a child and he and Erica became my family.  We played together daily, made up games and he performed MJ routines in his bedroom window when he got in trouble. Our longest conversation on record is 3.5 hours as we reviewed the Barbie movie last summer.  Through the years we kept in touch and even when we argued, it was all in love. I will miss him but know he lived life with meaning and on purpose. Rest on...your girl Tanya "storm" (Gray) Anderson and Family.
