Robert Louis Vidor, 78, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2024, at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House.
Born in Columbia, Louisiana, on August 11, 1946, Robert was the son of Louis and Beatrice McKeithen Vidor. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he distinguished himself with bravery, earning the Bronze Star with Valor, Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
A proud veteran, Robert was an active member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, the NRA, and the Vietnam Veterans of America. He retired from McDonald’s Corporation where he worked in the New York Region and was promoted to product development in McDonald’s corporate office in Oak Brook, Illinois.
Robert had a diverse range of interests. He was an avid target shooter and weight lifter and took great pleasure in cooking, especially his renowned Italian gravy. He was a devoted fan of the New York Giants and the Green Bay Packers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Wendy Vidor; three daughters, Samantha (Ryan) Ball of Mt. Dora, Mattie Vidor of Palm Coast, and Abbey Vidor of Port Orange; and four cherished grandchildren, Marleigh Wedell, Caiden Ball, Cameron Ball, and Landen Ball.
Robert was a family man and was devoted to his wife, Wendy and this three daughters, Samantha, Mattie and Abbey. His life reflected his love for his family in his actions and words. He instilled that love and honor and respect for his family and his country.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, located at 511 Old Kings Road South in Flagler Beach.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
