Mike graduated from United Township High School in 1985 and later University of Northern Iowa in 1990. He was an outstanding athlete throughout his life and was well known at both schools on and off the football field.
Mike was a longtime employee of the State of Illinois as a correctional officer in East Moline and as a correctional counselor at the Kewanee, Illinois Youth Center. Mike helped people from all walks of life and brought his jokes and infectious laugh to even the roughest crowds. Later retiring to Palm Coast, Florida, Mike continued his love for the outdoors.
Loved by all that knew him, Mike is survived by his father, Robert and step-mother, Mary, sister, Larenda (Renny), sons, Jacob and Lucas, daughter, Sophie, step-children, Brianna and Brady, nephew, Josh, and wife Julie. He is proceeded in death by his mother, Martha Campbell, who passed in 2001.
He will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
