Kathy was born on June 4, 1947, to the late Virgil and Theresa Colangelo. She was a devout Catholic raised in Niagara Falls, New York as part of a very large and close knit extended family.
She pursued her passion for art and education, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Art Education from Rosary Hill College in Buffalo, New York. It was during her college years that she met her soulmate, Michael Hadden, on a blind date in 1967. They embarked on a beautiful journey together and were united in marriage on June 6, 1970. Over the course of their 53 years of marriage, they were blessed with three children.
Kathy's professional journey led her to a fulfilling career as a florist at Giant Foods in Virginia, where she dedicated 20 years of her life. Following her passion for teaching, she transitioned into the education sector, where she inspired young minds for an additional 5 years before retirement. In 2005, Kathy and Mike relocated to Florida to bask in the sunshine and tranquility of coastal living.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Kathy found joy in various hobbies, including raising butterflies with her friends and Mike for her community's delight, soaking up the sun at the beach and pool, indulging in retail therapy through shopping excursions, and the occasional thrill of a trip to the casino. However, her greatest source of happiness and fulfillment came from her role as a grandmother to her eight beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Hadden; loving children, Chris and his wife Bethany Hadden, Kim and her husband Ray Raszl, Kelly and her husband Brian Gaines; adoring grandchildren, Mason, Ryker, Evan, Ryan, Riddick, Owen, Rylie, and Ashton; and siblings, Ginny Harrington, Ron Colangelo, Rosanne Colangelo, Connie Locey, and Debbie Carlin.
