Funeral services for Hazel Deborah Strange Lawrence of Palm Coast, FL formerly of Palatka, FL will be held on August 2, 2023, 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Palm Coast, 6050 Palm Coast, Pkwy, NW, Palm Coast, FL. Friends may visit from 10:00AM until time of the service. Interment to follow 2:00pm at Palatka Memorial Gardens. Hazel Lawrence passed away on July 27, 2023 at Flagler Health and Rehab, Bunnell, FL. She was born in Palatka, FL on October 11, 1926. The daughter of Russell Strange and Deborah Haisten Strange.

Preceding Hazel in death was her husband William Robert Lawrence, Jr. parents Russell and Deborah Strange, brother Burton Strange, sister-in-law Marie Strange, sister-in-law Willie Rose Staton.

Hazel went to high school in Palatka. She and her husband shared the same birthday. Hazel was 3 hours older than Robert! They were also country neighbors! Hazel and Robert were married May 9, 1946 when he came back from WWII.

Hazel worked for JC Penney, Oliver & Garrett, Floyd Insurance Agency, Ideal Laundry & Dry Cleaners, Topaz Motel in Flagler Beach, FL.

She enjoyed gardening and crocheting afghan’s for family and friends. Donations in her memory may be made to Alpha Women’s Center.

Survivors include her daughters, Cheryl (Tom) McConnell, Deborah (Leland) Hughes, sons, Robbie (Chris) Lawrence, Randy (Barbara) Lawrence, grandchildren, David McConnell, Jennifer (David) Hill, Krista Hughes, Dwayne Hughes, Abbie (Ezra) Ortiz, Nathan Lawrence, Kelly (Brad) Bowman, great-grandchildren, Jessica Rodgers, Jarrett Hill, Jamie Hill, Ashley (Rob) Goetsch, Lindsay (Michael) Summa, Ava Ortiz, Eden Ortiz, great-great-grandchildren, Alec Rodgers, Anniston Goetsch, Aria Goetsch, Xander Goetsch, Alana Summa.

Services are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, Memorial Gardens and Crematory.
