Emilio "Joe" Palisoc Jr.

Emilio "Joe" Palisoc Jr., 81, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away on November 19 2024, at AdventHealth Palm Coast. He was born on April 2, 1943, in Alaminos, Philippines, to the late Emilio and Potenciana Palisoc.

At the age of 17, Joe left his home in the Philippines to join the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served during the Vietnam Conflict. He spent many years aboard the USS Saratoga, initially working as an Aviation Structural Mechanic. However, due to hearing loss from years of aviation service, Joe transitioned to the role of Military Customs Inspector, and played a key role in security operations. During his 20 years of dedicated service, he earned several prestigious honors, including the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Meritorious Unit Commendation. Joe also received a letter of appreciation from the U.S. Naval Station in Rota, Spain, for his invaluable work with the Military Customs Division. His bilingual skills were instrumental in strengthening Spanish-American relations, and his personal efforts led to the successful seizure of drugs from shipments on five separate occasions. Joe retired as a Chief Petty Officer after two decades of service.

Following his military career, Joe worked for another 20 years with the United States Postal Service, continuing to serve his community.

In his personal life, Joe was a man who loved to cook for his loved ones, to dance, and enjoyed live music. He studied futbol quiniela, dog track, and lottery analytics to unravel the patterns and probabilities in pursuit of a winning edge. We always thought he was the luckiest man on Earth! He was a familiar face at his local Publix, where he had formed friendships with many. But above all, Joe’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Robin; children, Emil (Lori) Palisoc, Joyce Bonilla, Isabel (Joshua) Carter, Sarah (Thomas) Baker, Emily (Allston) Johns, and Sophia Palisoc; grandchildren, Nick, Gabby, Tony, Izzy, Vinny, Mariah, Cash, Paisley, Stella, Lyla, and his soon-to-be-born granddaughter Brystole; his brother, Eduardo (Belinda) Palisoc; as well as many loving relatives in the Philippines and dear friends.

A man of service, love, and laughter, Joe will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

A memorial gathering for Joe will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM.
