Edward "Smitty" Smith, 85, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. He was born on February 26, 1939, to the late Edward and Eleanor Smith in New York City.
Smitty dedicated over 55 years of his life as a First Responder in New York City, serving his community with courage and compassion. In 2004, he and his wife, Barbara "Bobbi" Rons-Smith, relocated to Palm Coast, Florida, where he enjoyed the serene beaches, traveled, listened to music, and, in his younger years, indulged in target shooting.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Bobbi, along with many dear friends and colleagues who will remember him fondly for his kindness, dedication, and zest for life.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Smitty's memory may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a cause close to his heart.
He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A viewing for Smitty will be held Monday, December 2, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. & Interment to follow in the cemetery.
