Doris Jane Steele Hatzenbuhler

Doris Jane Steele Hatzenbuhler, 98, of Palm Coast, Florida passed away on September 9, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 17, 1923 in Gloversville, New York to the late Ralph Henry & Laverna Grant Steele.

She married the love of her life George on July 12, 1945. They raised their family in Connecticut for nineteen years and in 1968 moved to Shorewood, Wisconsin. Once the children were independent, Doris went to work supporting the Pastoral Care Department at Columbia Hospital. After retirement, they moved to sunny Palm Coast, Florida in 1989. There, Doris enjoyed playing golf with her friends but her greatest love in life was spending time with her beloved family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, George William Hatzenbuhler in 2016; and grandson, Jacob Hatzenbuhler in 2016.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane of Florida; son, John of Wisconsin, his wife, Lili; daughter Robyn Slawinski of Florida, her husband John; and son, Robert of Connecticut his wife, Sally.

Survivors also include eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial gathering for Doris will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida 32136, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM.
