Born on March 18, 1930 at Claremont, WV, she was the daughter to the late Dexter Clay Helmick and Lola Mae Capps.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Harvey Adkins; son: Beverly “Mick” Adkins; and son-in-law, Robert Asire.
Left to cherish her memory include her two daughters: Cheryl Lynn Asire of Fayetteville and Drema Sue and James “Whitie” Johnson of Fayetteville; daughter-in-law, Marlene Adkins of Oak Hill; grandchildren: Clarence “Skeeter” Adkins and wife, Mona of Beckley, Jason Adkins (Brandi) of Beckley, Justin Johnson of Fayetteville, and LaDonna Bryant and husband, Chance of Beckley; great grandchildren: Destiny (Jared), Kindal (Wayne), Warren, and Jace; great-great-grandchildren: Lola Ann and Solara Lou; several step grandchildren; and two surviving sisters: Donna Sue Kees and husband, Robert of Ohio and Paula McGraw of Fayetteville, WV.
Betty was a member of Wolf Creek Community Church. She loved cleaning house, watching birds, and spending time with her family, friends, and church family. Also she loved to feed wildlife and neighborhood animals.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 1PM at The Bibb Cemetery in Fayetteville with Pastor Scott Farnsworth officiating. The family will receive visitors at the home of Mrs. Adkins following the service.
