On Monday, January 16, 2017, Stuart Donald Osborne, 87, of Berryville, VA, went home to the Lord. He is survived by his loving son and daughter, Christopher Stuart Osborne and Patricia Ann Osborne, as well as his daughter-in-law, Jane White Osborne. Stuart was born March 11, 1929 in London England. After completing his education in London, he worked in the family’s printing business, H. P. Skinner and Co. Stuart and his family moved to the United States in 1950, and Stuart became a United States citizen in 1956. A proud member of the Columbia Typographical Union, No.101-12, Stuart had a successful career with the US Government Printing Office as a Printer and retired in 1988 after more than thirty years of service.
On June 5, 1954, Stuart married his beloved wife Mary Ann Marcellino. Together, they made their home in Falls Church, Virginia and welcomed their children, Christopher and Patricia. Stuart and Mary Ann also lived in Vienna, Virginia, and Triangle Virginia. Stuart was preceded in death by Mary Ann in 1997. After Mary Ann’s death, Stuart moved to Berryville, Virginia where he lived independently until his death.
Stuart had a life-long affection for dogs, and he was a member of the American Sealyham Terrier Club for thirty years. A man of many talents, Stuart loved cars and gardening and he personalized the gardens of his homes. Stuart enjoyed working creatively on projects for his home and also with the crafts group at Grace Episcopal Church in Berryville. Stuart had a cheeky wit and dry sense of humor, and he frequently amused his family with limericks, songs and jokes. His family and friends cherish the lifetime of memories and will always carry him in their hearts.
