Margaret Mary Bishopp

Margaret Mary (Marge) Bishopp (nee Stone) was born at home on November 3, 1921, in Washington, DC to Edward Theodore Stone and Effie Agnes Stone. She was the oldest of 4 children, having three younger brothers (Jimmy, Joe and Benny).

She met her husband, Sidney Kirkwood Bishopp, as she walked by his father’s Butcher Shop on her way to school, she was just 14 years old. It was love at first sight and they married on May 3, 1938, in Washington, D.C.

She raised her five children (Margie, Sidney, Jr., Nancy, Becky, and Steve) in the McLean, Virginia area. She was a Stay-at-Home mother, family was important to her.

She spent her retired summers spending time with her 16 grandchildren, having most spend the summers with her and Sid at one of their Maryland homes, or in later years, one of their Florida homes, teaching them how to fish from the Margie B., catch and pick Blue Crabs, swim and golf.

She is pre-deceased by her loving husband, Sid, of 58 years, son, Sidney (2019), and brothers, Jimmy, Joe and Benny.

She leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 3, 2024, at 12pm at the National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia. Interment immediately following at 1pm.
