Elizabeth J. Jackson

Elizabeth (Betty) Jane Rockwell Jackson, 97, of Masontown, Pennsylvania passed away on August 6, 2023 in Annandale, Virginia. Betty was born in Mt. Sterling, Pennsylvania to Caleb Glenn & Rosella Olive Rockwell on April 26, 1926. She went to German High School at McClellandtown, Pennsylvania. She married Alpheus Edward Jackson on October 1, 1945 in Cumberland, Maryland. She worked as a clerk for C&P Telephone Company (Verizon) for 24 years and was very active in the Lorton Senior Center for the following 24 years. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Glenna Rockwell, Mary Leidecker and children Susan Jackson Farrar and Roger Edward Jackson. Betty is survived by daughters Glenna Joyce Wagner, Judith Elaine Hyde (Robert Hyde) , Debbie McClanahan (Roger's Partner) and William Farrar Jr. Sister Sandra Franks and brother Jack Rockwell (Karen Rockwell). Niece Karen Seymer (Charlie Seymer), Grandchildren: Kristi Wagner, Michael Wagner (Rob Benoit), Misti Booker (Steve Booker), David Jackson, Ryan Hyde, Deirdre Hyde Morris (Zachary Morris) and Meghan Farrar. Great Grand children - Caitlin Fremont (Ryan Fremont), Natalie Booker, Matthew Booker, Jessica Booker and one great great grandchild, Lawson Fremont. Betty is further survived by many dear nieces, nephews and beloved family friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family of Betty wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at Arden Courts of Annandale for their diligent care of our Betty for the last four years of her life. Visitation will be Saturday August 12, 2023 at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church (2006 Belle View Blvd. Alexandria, VA 22307) from 10:00am - 12:00pm. Funeral service will begin at 12:00pm. Graveside services will immediately follow at National Funeral Home & National Memorial Park (7482 Lee Highway Falls Church, VA 22042). Reception will follow graveside service at Four Provinces (105 W Broad St, Falls Church, VA 22046).
