Celia Aaron Ward, 78, of Washington, DC, passed away on April 18, 2017 in Nashville, TN with her family at her side after a lengthy battle against lung cancer. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frieda and Philip Aaron. Celia is survived by her two sons: Lawrence (Larry) Ward of Bala Cynwyd, PA, Michael Ward of Nashville, TN; daughters-in-law Stephanie Ward and Marni Ward; four grandchildren: Elizabeth (Ellie) Ward, Abigail (Abby) Ward, Claire Ward, and Evan Ward. Siblings: Maxine (nee Aaron) Bowman of New York, NY. She graduated from Midwood High School and was the first in her family to attend college. She graduated from City College of New York and earned a PhD in Psychology from Yeshiva University. Celia was devoted to her patients of the Loss Counseling Center of Washington and took tremendous pride in watching their growth. She had a deep love for animals and took great pleasure in her many pets (cats, dogs, horses) through the years.
Funeral service will be held at National Funeral Home in Falls Church, Virginia at 10:00am, and interment will be held at King David Memorial Gardens at 11:00am on the same property. Immediately following, the family will receive friends at the National Funeral Home. The family greatly appreciates any donations made in the memory of Celia A.
