I miss Alan.

He was a never-ending source of ideas.

He opened Doctor Delivery long before DoorDash and UberEats arrived.  Essentially, he invented convenient and contact-free delivery.  Too bad he shut it down before the big guys arrived who could buy him out.

He opened Hybrid Pedals, recognizing the future of electric bicycles and got regional exclusive distributor rights for several brands.  Then, however, many companies got into production and many bike shops started carrying other brands.  Unfortunately, he could not compete and shut down Hybrid Pedals.

I spent many hours with him, and I was heartbroken when he died.
We spent a week cleaning out his apartment before the end of the month and then organized a memorial lunch for him.

Many other people miss him too.

Alan was one of those people who could see around corners and tell you what was coming in the business world.  He spotted the emerging Electric Bike trend before anyone even knew about it.  He came to me wanting to become listed on the GSA Multiple Award Schedule because he always thought BIG.  

He was someone who was charming, respectful and personable as seen in the above picture.  Alan  knew business and his ideas constantly bubbled up fueled by his energetic enthusiasm to make the world better.  

If Alan came to a problem like electric bikes being banned in the National Parks, then he had a plan to gain the public on his side as smart and sensible strategy.  He never seemed to take NO as an answer, but simply a starting place from which he began his journey.  

Many people will miss his mind, courage and spark because he was a kind soul to those who crossed his path in life.

A friend

Alan was a great entrepeneur and supporter of our Safety and Health Foundation races...a friend of my fiend Jay Wind.  He will be missed.

Alan was passionate about E-Bikes and a tireless entrepreneur. I was new to Virginia when I met him.  He led a me and a large group into DC on fleet of Pedego bikes.  We had a great time.  I’m sorry to hear about his passing - rest easy Alan

I have known Alan for over 20 years.  I leaned alot from Alan over those years and his entrepreneurial skills helped make me the person I am today. Alan was always there for anyone that needed him and will missed by all. RIP Alan please watch over us from above.

Alan lived and believed in those electric bikes.  Once I was allowed to speed in that back Arlington neighborhood on the OPTI BIKE from Colorado.  Fast past police cars, wiping by the red light into a fast main street on one of THE top rated electric bikes.  I even invited Andrew, Drew over secretly and let him text it.
Andrew brought everyone Peruvian chicken one day.
Everyone has a past and demons but taming them is easy in the day.  Only some can tame them at night or for days after.
Alan was an artist in his own way and sad too.
Bless him.

Alan was my boyhood neighbor and adult-life friend who kept me up-to-date on his entrepreneurial adventures at Mario's, Hybrid Pedals and in the cut-throat e-bike market. Unforgettable character.--charlie clark
