Ronald H. Cote

Ronald H. Cote, age 77, of Fall River, passed away Friday, November 4, 2022 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Maureen P. (Ryan) Cote and former husband of Muriel (Raiche) Cote of Fall River.

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Henry and Mary (Majkut) Cote, he was a lifelong resident of the city. A graduate of Prevost High School, Class of 1963, he graduated Cum Laude from Providence College in 1967 and received his master’s degree from Bridgewater State University. He was a strong contributor to Providence College and remained active on the Prevost Alumni Association.

He retired as Principal from the Slade Grammar School. He was also Vice Principal at Kuss Middle School and taught at Bishop Feehan. He was past chair of the Citizens Scholarship Foundation.

Mr. Cote was quite proud of his French heritage and enjoyed traveling throughout Canada. He was an avid fan of all Boston sports teams.

He is survived by three children, David M. Cote of Fall River, Melissa A. Maywalt and her husband Stephen of Medford, MA, Jennifer M. Shapiro and her husband William of Stoneham, MA; one sister, Carolyn K. Vale and her husband Manuel of Westport; five grandchildren, David Cote, Maya and Rowan Maywalt, Elliott and Autumn Shapiro and three nephews, Brian Vale and his wife Tracy of Assonet, Andrew Raiche of Narragansett and Michael Raiche and his wife Rachel of North Kingstown.

Private services are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, Fall River.
