Lillian A. Mitchell

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Jan and Julia (Kochon) Kuzniar, she was a life-long resident of the city.

Lillian was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School. She was a long-time communicant of Good Shepherd Parish, where she was a member of the Bowling League, the Women’s Guild and the Holy Name Society.

She worked as a receptionist at Pediatric Associates on South Main Street in Fall River for several years. An avid gardener, she enjoyed knitting, reading, cooking and she especially loved attending events for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Atty. John R. Mitchell and his wife Judith and Jeffrey E. Mitchell and his wife Mary Ellen both of Fall River; two daughters, Judith A. Mitchell and her husband Richard Slavinski of Norton and June A. Mitchell of Fall River; four grandchildren, Jeffrey, James, Justin and Courtney Mitchell; two great-grandchildren, Jaryn and Jolieana Mitchell; sisters-in-laws, Dorothy Mitchell and Helen Sullivan and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Katherine Pomianowska, Chester Kuzniar, Jenny Pavent, Josephine Gutter and John Kuzniar.

The family would like to thank the staff at Somerset Ridge Nursing Home for the wonderful care they provided.

Her Funeral will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 9:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in Good Shepherd Parish, 1598 South Main Street, Fall River. Visiting hours Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions in her honor may be made to The Children’s Museum of Greater Fall River, 441 North Main Street Fall River, MA 02720. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
