Born in Taishan, Guangdong, China, she was the daughter of the late Shing Min and Lan Heung (Mar) Chan. As longtime residents of Fall River Kim and her husband Jimmy were the owners and operators of the former James Wong Restaurant on Pleasant Street in Fall River.
Quite proud of her home, Kim always kept it meticulous and grew a beautiful vegetable garden each year. She loved to travel and cruise with her husband.
She is survived by four siblings, May Ching “Eva” Mah of Montreal, Canada, Chung Dun Chan of Hong Kong, Dorothy Len and her husband Arthur of Concord, CA, May Yuet Chan “Doris” Wan of Waltham and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late May Fung and Annie Ginn.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held prior to her service from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Donations in Kim Wong’s name may be made to the Pine Knoll Nursing Center, 30 Watertown St., Lexington, MA 02421.
