Eileen L. Harrington

Eileen L. (Toole) Harrington, of Fall River, passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Day Tuesday, December 25, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife to the love of her life the late John R. Harrington who passed away on November 13, 2012.

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late William and Catherine (O’Neil) Toole, she had been a resident of Fall River her whole life.

Mrs. Harrington worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for the Fall River School Department for 22 years retiring from the James Tanzi School in 1985. She was a communicant of Holy Name Church and loved and adored her four children, seven grandchildren, and great granddaughter. Her whole life was devoted and dedicated to her family.

She is survived by two sons; John R. Harrington II of Portsmouth, RI, Michael W. Harrington of Fall River, two daughters; Eileen M. Desmarais and her husband Paul of Westport, Maureen E. Fisher of Seekonk, seven grandchildren; Brian Desmarais, Jennifer D’Arrigo, Jeffrey D’ Arrigo, Caitlin Desmarais, John Harrington III, Carlin Desmarais, Casey Harrington, one great-granddaughter; Sophie Desmarais, and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late William F., Joseph E., and Mary E. Toole, Lillian M. Dolan, and Catherine Campbell.

Her Funeral will be held Monday, December 31, 2012 at 10:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Contributions in her honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Entombment in Notre Dame Mausoleum. Arrangements are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place.
