Doris A. (Halpin) Rhoads, age 76, of Fall River, passed away, Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in St. Anne’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of George A. Rhoads to whom she has been married for the past 47 years.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late John and Matilda (Babineau) Halpin. She worked as a greeting card merchandiser for the former Gibson Greeting Card Company for many years.
Mrs. Rhoads was a member of the Fall River Historical Society. She loved all animals and flowers and was a former floral arranger. Her best times spent were with her family who she loved and cherished.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter: Robin Tripp of Fall River, son-in-law: Vernon A. Tripp Jr. of Fall River, two sisters: Elizabeth Gibbs and Susan Jochim both of New Bedford, two grandsons; Stephen A. Tripp of Fall River, Vernon A. Tripp III of CA, one great-grandson: Vernon A. Tripp IV, and many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late John "Jack" Halpin Jr.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 10:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Burial private.
