Thomas Franklin Kelso, Sr. passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017 at a hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 89. He was born on October 15, 1927 to Milton Thomas Kelso and Lottie Self Kelso in Orange Grove, Texas in Jim Wells County. Tommy proudly served our country in the U. S. Marine Corp as a Private during WWII. Tommy was a rancher his entire life and was the President of the T.Y.R.A. for several years as well as a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association. He worked for many years in the petroleum business as an oilfield contractor until his retirement. Tommy was always so proud of his prize winning horse, Neta Berry and would tell stories about her any chance he got.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Theresa Janice Kelso and all of his siblings.
He is survived by his life partner, Ona Lee Wishard of Premont, Texas; two sons, Tommy Kelso, Jr. of Eden, Texas and Randall Kelso and his wife, Patricia of Premont; two step-daughters, Debra Wishard of Austin, Texas and Brenda Wiederhold and her husband, Mark of San Diego, California; two grandchildren, Trace Kelso and his wife, Jill of Paint Rock, Texas and Brandy Marie Reed and her husband, Jason of Orlando, California; five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Brooke, Katherine, Graham, Riggin and Kash and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Premont Cemetery.
