Raquel H. Cavazos 72, passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at a hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born July 23, 1942 to Federico O. Hernandez and Irene Leal Hernandez in Sarita, Texas. Raquel worked as an Assistant at Las Palmas Veterinary Clinic of Falfurrias, Texas for many years. She was a loving wife and mother who deeply cared for her family and friends and she loved to smile and laugh. Raquel also had a hobby for working with ceramics and she produced many art projects herself. Gardening and sewing were also a special pastime for her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arturo Cavazos; brother, Leonel Hernandez and sister, Ludivina Hernandez.
Raquel is survived by two sons, Pete A. (JoAnn) Cavazos and Fred Cavazos; her daughter, Luddie (Blackie) Arredondo all of Falfurrias; brother, Ramiro Hernandez of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Angelica Ortiz of Falfurrias and Sylvia Hernandez of Mission, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
