Porfirio “Pilo” Herrera passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at his residence in Hebbronville, Texas at the age of 93. He was born on November 19, 1924 to Jose Herrera, Sr. and Tomasa Herrera in Oilton, Texas. He worked in the oilfield industry for many years until his retirement. Pilo loved to hunt as well at sit at the Stripes convenient store throughout the day with his friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Stella Cipple Herrera; infant son; brothers, Jose Herrera, Jr., and Hector Herrera and sisters, Aurora Godsey, Elisa Jasso and Anita Vaughn.
He is survived by his daughter, Laura Herrera of Hebbronville; brother, Guillermo (Juanita) Herrera of Houston, Texas; one grandson, Alan Alaniz of Hebbronville and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville. Burial will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
