Maria De Jesus Santos peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, surrounded by her family at her residence in Hebbronville, Texas. She was blessed with 87 years of life where she made many memories with her family and friends. Maria was born on December 23, 1936 to Nazario Deleon and Genoveva Rodriguez Deleon in Realitos, Texas and was one of eight children. She loved to sew, cook, garden and most of all dance and listen to music. Being with family was something she cherished, especially her grandchildren.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gonzalo Santos, Jr. and six of her siblings, Jose Reynaldo Deleon, Andrea Avalos, Angelina Rodriguez, Nasario Deleon, Roberto Deleon and Genoveva Paiz.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her children, Gonzalo Santos, III of Hebbronville, Jose Luis (Monica) Santos of Edinburg, Silvia S. Nunez and Jose Adalberto (Cynthia) Deleon both of Hebbronville; brother, Mario Deleon of Seagraves, Texas; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Cruz, Jose L. Santos, Jr., Rodolfo L. Santos, Gonzalo Santos, IV, Nacario Santos, Eliberto Jose Deleon, Jose L. Santos, III, Jesus Santos, and Jose Adalberto Deleon, Jr.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a Holy Rosary to be prayed at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Hebbronville. Services will conclude with Burial at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
