Leonel Salinas Sr.

Leonel Salinas, Sr. was called home by the Lord on Monday, November 18, 2024 at a hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 75. He was born on January 14, 1949 to Jose Maria Salinas and Elvira Figueroa Salinas in Premont, Texas. Before becoming disabled, Leonel was a jack of all trades and did a little bit of everything including mechanic and construction work. He also raised roosters, loved to hunt, fish and enjoyed the ranch life. Although he could often be temperamental, precise and stern, he was a jokester as well and loved to make people laugh.

Leonel was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by his parents; stepfather, Guadalupe Salinas; common-law-wife, Lydia C. Salinas; significant other, Brenda S. King; brothers, Reyes Salinas and Jose Salinas and sisters, Blaza Lopez, Angelita Lopez, Albesa Rocha, Celia Salinas and Herlinda Salinas.

Leonel leaves behind to cherish his memories his children, Brenda Salinas of Corpus Christi, Lori O’Seguera of Idaho, Rosa Maria Salinas of Falfurrias, Leonel (Melissa Ann Barrera) Salinas, Jr. of Falfurrias, Letty (Milo) Garza of La Gloria, Texas and Kevin King of Alice, Texas; brothers, Enemencio Salinas, Manuel Salinas, Amando Salinas and Oscar Salinas; sisters, Josefa Cadena; 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family member.
