Delia met the love of her life, Ray, when the oilfield brought him into Hebbronville, Texas. Rumor has it, he drove in and swept her off her feet while sporting a sleek 1968 black Fairlane 500. They married shortly after and traveled for sometime, as they followed Ray’s work transfers, before returning home to grow and raise their family. She was a dedicated housewife while her children were in grade school. As they grew older, she entered the workforce at Marie’s Restaurant and devoted many years of employment until it’s closing. She was well known for her delicious baking and cooking skills she acquired from her mother.
Delia dedicated all her time to her husband and family after the restaurant closed. She was most fond of her grandchildren and their accomplishments. She, along with her loving sister Dalia, never missed an event or game the grandchildren were participating in before her health declined.
You would often find her purchasing her daily Coca-Cola at Tommy’s Meat Market or one of the local grocery stores while bragging about one of her grandchildren. Delia will be deeply missed by everyone who was touched by her beautiful and unforgettable soul.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ray H. Moore.
