John David Hays, age 70, of Rocky River, Ohio passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023.
He was born in Cleveland, the son of the late David and Helen (nee Verderber) Hays. John is the loving brother of Mary Hays Fischvogt; adored uncle of Sarah (Owen) Nyswonger and Karen (Wayne) Hopkins and great-uncle of Tivona Nyswonger; life partner of Denise Hunyadi, who predeceased him on May 8, 2022.
John received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Purdue University and his Doctorate degree from Case Western Reserve University. He was a Facilities Manager in the Chemistry Department at CWRU for 28 years. John volunteered many hours in the restoration of the Str. William G. Mather in Cleveland.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 10AM at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14609 Brookpark Rd., Brook Park Ohio 44142. Please meet at the gates.
