Pratap "Raj" N. Mehra

Pratap was born in Allahabad, India to Professor Kailash and Shanti (Kapoor) Mehra. He married the love of his life, Debbra Polic, on August 28, 1982 in Springfield, IL. She survives and resides in Shiloh, IL.

Also surviving are his brother-in-law, Richard M. (Lea) Polic of O’Fallon, IL; siblings, Dr. Manju Tandon, Rajesh (Uma) Mehra and Veena (Subhash Arya) Mehra, all of Jaipur, India; dear friends, Surinder and Narinder Sethi of Bloomington, IL; his step-mother, Sharda Mehra; five nieces and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Professor Kailash and Shanti Mehra; brother, Dr. Prakash Mehrotra; and brother-in-law, Chand Tandon.

Pratap worked for 34 years as a civil engineer with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency in Springfield, IL, retiring in 2013.

He and Debbra were world-travelers, going on endless adventures and making a lifetime of memories. They were truly soulmates and cherished each moment spent together. Pratap loved the St. Louis Cardinals and Illini Basketball. He enjoyed tinkering and working with all types of gadgets and electronics. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Protective League, Springfield, IL. Additional condolences may be sent to the family through the online guestbook.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family has entrusted Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL with arrangements.
