Mr. Stone was retired from the United States Air Force after serving in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church. He was retired after working in management for Dickerson Petroleum and Canterbury Enterprises. Rocky enjoyed taking care of his flower garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Frank and Maxie, nee Turner, Stone, three brothers; Eugene “Jim” Stone, Frank “June” Stone, and Russell Stone, two sisters, Louise Fletcher and Della “Liz” Buchanan, and a great grandson, Gregory Sill.
Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Jennie Stone, nee Kranz, his children; Debbie (Bill) Ausmus, of Clayton, Illinois, Bruce (Linda) Stone of Belleville, Illinois, Leslie (Steven) Mattingly of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Donna (Jonathan) Wiltsie of Cave Springs, Arkansas, and Karen (Jason) Mollet of Belleville, Illinois, 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, a great grandchild on the way, three sisters; Wanda Hasty, Mildred Johnson, and Genevieve “Jenny” Sisco, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 12-2 pm, Saturday, May 4, 2012, at First United Presbyterian Church Belleville, Illinois.
Funeral: Memorial services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, May 4, 2012 at First United Presbyterian Church, Belleville, Illinois, with Rev. Rob Dyer officiating. Inurnment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
