Henry proudly served his country in the United States Army, during World War II. He owned and operated Henry’s Automotive in Belleville, Illinois for many years. He served as Captain with the East Side Volunteer Fire Department in Belleville. He devoted much of his time to volunteering and was a lifetime member of the Catholic War Veterans. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs fan, depending on which of his daughters were in his presence. He never met a stranger and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a loving husband, who will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Katherine, Nee Klueckner; his sister, Mary Ortman; and his two brothers-in-law, Walter Ortman and Orville Quirin.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 68 years, Lorraine A. Olliges, nee Berhns, of Smithton, Illinois; his three daughters, Karen Ferrara, of Belleville, Illinois, Linda (Thomas) Chastain, of Smithton, Illinois, and Diane (Michael) Lanterman, of Rockwood, Illinois; his grandchildren, Chris Ferrara, Beth (Curt) Regensberger, Becky (Del) Alexander, Brian (Cindy) Chastain, and Michele Myers; his great grandchildren, Colton, Noah, Jay, Brianna, Robert, and Rylie; a sister, Helen Quirin, of Belleville, Illinois, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral: Services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
