Mike was born in Georgia to Martha Boone (Lewis) and William Boone on December 30, 1955. He relocated with family from Macon, Georgia to the Washington D.C. area, graduating from Robinson Secondary School (Fairfax, Virginia) in 1974.
Mike leaves behind a legacy of more than 30 years in law enforcement. He was an accomplished officer and detective, spending much of his time with the City of Fairfax, Virginia Police Department. Colleagues knew Mike as diligent and dedicated to seeking justice for victims of crime. He spent retirement serving local agencies including the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and Fairfax County Police Department.
Mike was a beloved father, brother, and friend. He was often found planning a home renovation project or watching F1 racing.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Courtney (Evan) Douglas; lifelong friend and former wife Stephanie Adkins; sisters Patricia and Leslie Boone; and partner Diana Alkire.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at the Sherwood Community Center in Fairfax, Virginia on Monday, May 13 at 11:30 am.
