John Paul Balserak

John Paul Balserak, 86, died on September 13th, 2024 in Fairfax, Virginia. Paul was a good man, hard-working, loyal, and generous. He loved his family and his faith. Paul was born in Pittsburgh, and graduated from Penn State and Georgetown Law School. He worked 55 years for various federal agencies, starting at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and retiring from the Department of the Interior. Paul was always busy, working around the house or walking the dog. We called him Mr. Fix-It, and he was always ready to lend tools or help a neighbor. He gave his time to St. Leo’s Catholic Church through the choir, the lector group, and the Knights of Columbus. Paul’s lifelong focus was the well-being and happiness of his family. We will miss him dearly. Survivors include his wife, Mary, his sons Jon (Bilgay), Paul (Lori), and Daniel (Jessica Long); grandchildren, Benjamin, Erin, Daniel, Ella, Caitlin, Lucy, and Augustin; and his beloved dog, Jack.
