AUX SOINS DE
Demaine Funeral Home – Fairfax
of Springfield, VA, passed away peacefully at Inova Fairfax Hospital on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Angelo Charles DeMeo; devoted mother of Debby McHail (Rex) and Leona Espinosa (Eddie); loving grandmother of Rex (Danielle), Steven, Daniel (fiancée Alison), Elyse (Nick) and Ethan; thrilled great-grandmother (“GG”) to Brielle and Marco. Jo enjoyed family and family gatherings above all else. She and husband “Charlie” were born and raised in Brooklyn, NY then took on the travels, adventures and challenges of frequent moves while Charlie served over twenty years with the United States Marine Corps until retiring in Honolulu, HI. Jo not only adapted to changes well throughout her life but eagerly sought new opportunities head-on, often leading a special cause. Her volunteerism at Greenspring Retirement Community in Springfield, VA where she lived for fourteen years was admired and frequently recognized. She loved a good debate and thoroughly loved an active social life with friends and family, who miss her dearly. Jo’s remains will join husband Charlie’s at Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium at a date to be determined. In keeping with CDC safety guidelines for the prevention of the covid 19 virus, services will be limited to family only. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Jo to one of her favorite charities, Greenspring Scholarship Fund.
You may send a check, payable to "Greenspring Village Inc Scholars Fund". Mail to Greenspring Philanthropy, 7430 Spring Village Drive, Springfield, VA 22150.
