She married Franklyn James Selzer on 21 September, 1958 in Athens, Greece. Irene Theodoropoulou Selzer is survived by her spouse Colonel Franklyn James Selzer, and her son Franklyn Louis Selzer and his spouse Christina Lentzou Selzer; her grandson Mathew Gilbert Cake, his spouse Beth Gilmore Cake; great-Grandchildren, Dylan James Cake, Taylor Ann Cake, and Alaina Dodaro.
