Laura Fields

Laura Elizabeth (Webb) Fields was born on October 25, 1925. She entered heaven on January 17, 2023 at 97 years old. She is preceded in death by her husband of almost 64 years, Joe Fields; her precious son, Joe Demrest Fields; her parents, Lee and Maudie Webb; two brothers; four sisters; one grandson; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sue Fields; daughters, Rebecca Buskill, Minnie Carlisle; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was born in Haymond, KY and was the oldest daughter of Lee and Maudie Webb. She grew up in Letcher County around the Whitesburg and Ermine, KY areas. She came from a long line of hardworking people who originated from England in the 1600’s. As a young mother, she and her husband Joe moved their family to Fairdale, KY where she lived in the family home until September of 2021, and then at Franciscan Nursing Home until her death.

She was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and so much more. She loved to tend to her flower gardens, make quilts, Afghans, be surrounded by children- especially babies, and all of her loved ones. She was baptized around age 20 in the Kentucky River and became a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church in Mayking, KY. Later in life, she transferred her membership to Grace Community Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. She spent her whole life attending church and telling people about her love for Jesus.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 from 1-8pm at Fairdale McDaniel Funeral Home, 411 Fairdale Road, Fairdale, KY. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 12pm.
