Faye and Family:
I am deeply sorry to finally hear of Clem's passing.  He was a good shipmate and I will always cherish the memories from when we served on board the USS Onslow (AVP-48).  I wish him Fair Winds and Following Seas in the hereafter.

Pierre and I are deeply saddened to learn of Jerome’s passing. From the time he and Pierre met and started carpooling to Wright State, where they were colleagues, the Clemenses and Horns were on their way to becoming the best of friends. We four shared many good times together over the years, during holidays at home or dining out or just “hanging around” together.
On one occasion, for example, at a local family restaurant, we were laughing so hard over a slip of the tongue, Spooner-style, by one of us, that other diners were staring. Embarrassed, we began to apologize, when a lady at a nearby table who had evidently been enjoying our merriment, said she only wished she were sitting at our table! 
Another time, after a freak blizzard brought everything to a standstill, the guys insisted on driving to the University despite the concerns we, their wives, had. They managed to get there without incident only to find the University closed.  That was bad enough, but coming home they slid off the road and got stuck. Rescue eventually came in the form of four young men driving by who stopped and literally lifted Jerome’s little Datsun up and put it back on the road! Understandably, and some would say wisely, they swore one another to secrecy. 
This brotherly oath of silence may well have lasted forever had they not forgotten about it—and especially the reason for it—when decades after the great blizzard they let slip the full story of their automotive mishap, while reminiscing over how it happened and how they were amazingly saved! 
So many fond recollections to look back on and cherish...
And now, dearest Faye and Will, we must send our sincere condolences at this sad time to you both as well as to Jerome’s sister and children and other family members. 
May his memory be a blessing to us all.

Jerome was a wonderful man, who had a tremendous curiosity about life.  He enjoyed learning and investigating things, and helping others to learn as well.  He was kind, gentle, and patient, with a great sense of humor.  Most importantly he was a man of faith, who lived his life according to this example: "preach Christ, and use words if necessary". He will be greatly missed by many.  My love, thoughts, and prayers to his family always.  -Mike Breunling

Faye, Will, and Jerome's family and friends,  you have my deepest sympathies.  There is now such a loss, and yet a release at the same time.

Jerome, goodbye old friend.  From our first "business" meeting at Wright State U. to discuss the use of weather data from your now long gone met site on campus, to our recent, but last, telephone conversation, you were  generous with your resources, help, and advice, and grew to be a good friend.   I will raise a shot of Scotch in your honor, and won't forget you.   Farewell.

Jerome was such a kind, thoughtful person. I always went away feeling good after spending time with Jerome. He will be missed.

I shall always remember Jerome.   He was a loving husband of Faye,  who taught with me at Black Lane School.  He was the father of William, a student there.  He was my professor of geography at WSU where very few knew he was blind because of the way he conducted himself.  He became a personal friend of my husband & I and we enjoyed lunches together.  His conversations were always very interesting & he had a natural way of causing laughter.  He was always on my prayer list as he suffered much in his final years.  But what I shall remember most is his laughter that erupted often when I least expected it. 
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Faye & William that they may find peace 
in the knowledge that their loved one left fond memories for others that knew him.
