BERNADETTE LEGNER “Bernie” LANHAM, age 78 of Fairborn, passed away on Saturday September 7, 2024. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 10, 1946 to John G. and Gladys M (Newman) Legner. On May 27, 1967 she married William Lanham. He died on September 28, 2021.
Bernie worked at the A&W Root Beer, Parkmoor Restaurant and was a School Bus Aid for the Fairborn School District. She loved going bowling and playing cards. She was very artistic. She enjoyed cooking and decorating cakes. She crocheted afghans for people, usually giving them to someone as a gift. She became interested in Genealogy and loved finding out about her family’s history, including being related to Daniel Boone! She was a longtime member of and very active at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. She was a great and giving person that will be greatly missed.
Bernie is survived by her brother and sisters: Lou Legner, Mary Foley Agathangelides, Rita Millard (Mitch) and Karen Bressler (Kevin). Also surviving are numerous nieces/nephews and grandnieces/nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother John, sisters Patty and Theresa and by her brothers in law, Walt Blair, Raymond Foley and Demetrious Agathangelides.
The family will receive friends on Thursday September 12, 2024 from 5pm to 7pm at Burcham Tobias Funeral Home, 119 E. Main St., Fairborn, Ohio, and on Friday September 13th at the Church from 9am to 10am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Fairborn. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery, Fairborn.
