Suzanne, 61, passed away of breast cancer on April 26, 2011 at her home in Fair Oaks, CA surrounded by her family.
Born December 6, 1949 in Bakersfield to Charles and Maye Hong, she graduated from Bakersfield High School and attended Bakersfield College before transferring to California State University of Sacramento. She received a B.S. in Nursing and dedicated over 35 years to caring for patients as a Registered Nurse at Sutter Memorial Hospital.
In 1974 she married Thomas Anthony in Sacramento, to whom she was married for 37 happy years. A devoted wife and mother of Brian and Leslie, she gave endless hours and energy to ensuring the well-being and happiness of her family and many friends.
Sue loved to travel and made trips to England, France, Italy and China. A dedicated moviegoer, she also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and entertaining friends.
Known for going the extra mile, her generosity, kindness, and selflessness were especially evident in times of difficulty when she would stop at nothing to bring comfort and love to people in need.
Sue is also survived by her brother, Charles Hong.
A visitation will be held Friday 4-7pm at Mt. Vernon Memorial Park in Fair Oaks, CA. A memorial service will be held Saturday 2:30pm at the same location, followed by a gathering at the family home. She will be interred at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon. Donations may be made to Susan G. Koman for the Cure or Sutter Hospice.
