Sandra was born February 18, 1936 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She passed away at age 85 on December 4, 2021. She was the loving wife of Edward Weinthaler. She is survived by her children, Cynthia Lee Weinthaler, Jeffrey Warner Weinthaler, Stacey Lynn Weinthaler; her sister Bonnie Mathisen of Los Altos, CA, Brother-In-Law Mark Mathisen of Los Altos, CA, Nephew David Mathisen San Mateo CA, and Niece Krista Mathisen of Burlingame, CA. Sandra grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, graduated from Ann Arbor High School 1954. She attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. She graduated from the University of Michigan, 1958. She married Edward Weinthaler, Cornell University in February 1961.
Sandra taught mathematics in junior & senior high school in Birmingham, Michigan. Moved to New York City in 1961. She also taught mathematics in senior high school in Springfield New Jersey.
Sandra and Edward moved to California in 1963 and resided in San Mateo and Hillsborough for 20 years. Sandra taught mathematics at Crystal Springs School, was active in several local charities including member of Stanford Children's Hospital Auxiliary, served as President of local the PTA,was active in Pi Beta Phi fraternity and held offices locally and statewide.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Burlingame CA., a member of Handbell Choir at Presbyterian Church and attended Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church in Fair Oaks, CA.
Sandra moved to Sacramento in 1986 where she sold Real Estate for over 20 years with Lyon Real Estate. Her hobbies included: Bridge, Tennis, travel and music.
A visitation for Sandra will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Ln, Fair Oaks, CA 95628. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Alta Mesa Memorial Park, 695 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto, CA 94306.
